SAPMER has always been involved in a responsible fishing model. This MSC certification for its toothfish fishery is proof of this.
It is in this true environmental and community commitment, that SAPMER participated in this ‘Responsible Fishing Week’ from 20th to 26th February 2017, organised at a national level by MSC (Marine Stewardship Council), ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council) and WWF (World Wildlife Fund) France, in order to offer everyone, the opportunity to better understand deep sea fishing activities.
This week allowed the general public to discover the sustainable and responsible fishing activities implemented by the company. SAPMER organised visits of its site to introduce:
- Its ships which operate in the Southern Seas,
- The work of deep-sea fishing sailors,
- Its logistics and the traceability of all its products from the fishing zone to the end consumer,
- Its commitments and initiatives towards ‘Responsible Fishing’.
